Job Title: Accounts Technician. Reporting to: Finance Manager (or as directed. Division: Industrial Services. Main Purpose of the Role: Responsible for the accounts, administration and preparation of month end accounts to trial balance stage for the Industrial Services division. You will also be required to provide cover for the logistics administrator, and assist with other areas as required. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Daily checking, confirming and posting of sales invoices. Daily job costing and sales & margin reporting. Daily sales reconciliation and journal entries (as required. Responsible for the maintenance of the division’s cost accruals and journal posting at month-end. Maintenance of the division’s purchases; including new supplier setup, cost accrual reconciliations, generation of POs and the processing of invoices to finance. Maintenance of the sales ledger, resolve queries with credit control, generating credit notes as required. Integral involvement in month-end management accounts process, including sales & margin reporting. Monthly nominal reconciliation and responsible for timely resolution/investigation of balances. Key customer account maintenance. Cover for the routing of trucks and crews as required by the Project Manager. Assist in KPI analysis. Liaising with other divisions on monthly internal charges/ sales. Credit card reconciliation. Preparation of weekly wages/ salaries and upkeep of annual leave entitlements. Tracking of fleet repairs and maintenance costs. Assist in Capex requisition. Reception cover. Assist in external audit queries. Assist in the preparation of budgets/ forecasts. General admin duties/ filing to ensure the office is run efficiently. Key contributor to business improvements. Education/ Experience required: Accounting Technician qualification or near completion, or a business/ related qualification is essential. Minimum of 2 years accounts experience in a busy environment essential. Knowledge of double entry postings. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy with numbers. Ability to work to tight deadlines and to take ownership of your work. Must have strong IT skills with a high level of proficiency in Excel. Must have strong experience processing a high volume of invoices. Proven track record of achievement and working on own initiative. Excellent telephone manner, communication and interpersonal skills.
