The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment is a statutory body which plays an important role in supporting the education system in delivering quality education at a time of significant change.   A vacancy now arises with particular responsibilities in post-primary education. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Deputy Chief Executive will play a key role in leading and progressing the work of the executive in delivering on the Strategic Plan; the management of staff; and in liaising with stakeholders to ensure that the NCCA continues to make a significant contribution to the development of education in Ireland.   The successful candidate will have:   • specialist knowledge and experience of curriculum and assessment development for post-primary education;   • knowledge of the Irish education system;   • be familiar with current policy issues and trends in education and in education research, particularly in the field of post-primary curriculum and assessment;   • the capacity to successfully adapt to changing demands and situations, and have the ability to think strategically and to persuade and influence;   • a qualification at Level 8 (honours degree) or above, on the National Framework of Qualifications.
