What you need to know. You will work as a Packaging Engineer for our client, a highly successful and well-established food manufacturing company in Co. Kildare. As the Packaging Engineer , you will be responsible for ensuring packaging material procured meets the production requirements and that they are in compliance with regulatory standards. You must have in-depth knowledge of up to date packaging and processing procedures within the areas of materials & food science. This is a 12 month contract job. Your new job. Key duties & responsibilities: Work with Procurement on identifying new packaging products. Identify specifications for all printed and non-printed packaging. Work with production to run trials to check packaging suitability. Testing performance of packaging. Involvement in production and quality of packaging. Identifying new technologies and suppliers for packaging solutions. Manage change control process for packaging. Drive quality excellence for current and new vendors. Responsible for various projects and oversee the completion of required documentation and maintain accurate reports. What are we looking for? 3rd Level Degree in Science/Engineering/Polymer or related discipline. At least 5-6 years’ experience ideally in a food manufacturing environment. Experience in packaging development. Proven work experience in project management. Highly motivated and have the ability to work independently. Have the ability to understand the requirements of both internal and external customers in order to stay above the competitors. Have the organisational skills to meet required deadlines in a timely fashion in this fast-paced environment. Desirable. Experience in Plastics. Must be available and flexible to travel for business.
