What you need to know. You will work as a Financial Controller for our client, a very successful Irish-owned manufacturing company based in Co. Offaly. Our client is 30 years in business with a highly credible name in their sector. As the Financial Controller you will lead and manage the strategic and operational performance of the finance function. You will be a key member of the senior management team participating in the strategic development/direction of the company.This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who has a desire to advance their career. Key duties & Responsibilities: Prepare and present monthly financial reporting information, in line with structured deadlines – to include variance analysis with regard to Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Working Capital movements versus Budget/Forecast. Provide clear and informative financial and operational commentary including the identification & resolution of critical issues impacting profitability. Prepare the operational KPI framework, and exercise ownership with regard to operational performance measurement versus target. Prepare and present annual budget and quarterly forecasts in line with structured deadlines. Assure appropriate tax compliance. Work closely with all external parties on audit, insurance, revenue and banking etc. Ensure effective and robust financial controls and adopt a continuous improvement approach to finance process efficiency. Evaluate existing accounting system and upgrade or implement new accounting system to operate a product cost accounting system. Manage and lead the accounts team. What are we looking for? Qualified accountant ACCA/ACA/CIMA with 5 years + post-qualification experience. At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing organisation in a management accounting/cost accounting role. Strong commercial and people management experience. Experience of implementing a new accounting system. Track record of process improvement & cost saving initiatives.
