Description

As EHS Officer you will report directly to the EHS Manager where you will assist in implementing and supporting the Environmental Management system in the plant. Ensuring all operations complies with all the legislation to domestic and European regulations. Environmental Responsibilities: Review of Water usage on the site and development of a water-mapping programme. Ensure waste is been managed in accordance with standard operating procedures & environmental management systems. Assist in the attainment of the Company's recycling targets. Conduct environmental audits and review processes, techniques and equipment to determine how emissions can be reduced and compliance with environmental standards. Carry out sampling & analysis of waste treatment plant. Conduct relevant on-site environmental testing procedures to ensure site complies with licence parameters e.g. BOD, suspended solids, pH on wastewater & storm water. Compliance / Management Responsibilities: Sample management: Collection of samples, analysis of such and management of the retain samples. Implement compliance to standard testing procedures / methods. Commissioning and maintenance of laboratory equipment, components, devices, or systems including adjustment / prestart checks / asset care, troubleshooting and calibration scheduling as appropriate. Assist with the writing of SOPs. Health and Safety responsibilities: Understand, observe and ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures. Participate in and ensure that safety work place inspections are completed in accordance with schedule and standards. Attend Health and Safety meetings. Support and promote the development of an effective and pro-active safety culture on site. Proactively completes H&S e-learning. EHS Officer requirements: Honours Degree / QQI Level 8 equivalent level in Environmental Science or related technical discipline. Experience in an industrial environmental role. Track record of Health & Safety systems and 5S an advantage.
