Kenny-Whelan (a Specialist Division of the CPL Group) are hiring a Training Officer for our Global Food Client based in Leinster. Responsibilities: • Working with the HR Manager and Department Managers develop the training strategy and plan for the site to meet the needs of the business. • Support the Departmental Managers to identify training needs for their areas of responsibility and develop appropriate training plans to address the requirements. • Review training course content to ensure it meets the requirement of the business. • Evaluate the effectiveness of training making use of surveys, questionnaires, interviews and by observation and make recommendations for future courses or to amend existing ones. • Regularly monitor the outcome of training. • Introduce and develop an effective Competency Assessment system which will involve training Team Leaders on how to carry out Competency Assessment of Operators against PSOPs and evaluate Team Leaders carrying out this competency assessment. • Drive the timely completion of competency assessments. • Develop and deliver in-house training courses particularly in relation to HR procedures and processes. • Ensure all training is recorded appropriately and that the training matrix is up-to-date ensuring that it captures and displays the competency of each operator and identifies their training needs. • Review and plan ahead for all regulatory training to ensure compliance with legislation and the requirements of our customers. • Consider and evaluate the best use of IT capability for training purposes and advise the business on the appropriate use of e-learning material. • Evaluate external training providers to ensure best content to meet our needs, delivery methodology depending on the group being trained, cost and effectiveness. • Provide regular updates on forthcoming training events and short overview on training delivered. • Evaluate the effectiveness of the Employee Induction programme in all areas and develop the effectiveness of this programme. • Provide the HR Manager with support in a variety of HR activities as time allows. Health and Safety. • Proactively support the on-going development of safety through effective leading KPIs. • Progressively make the work environment safer through Risk assessments, hazard registers and elimination of hazards in the workplace. • Support the development of PSOPs and competency assessment; with associated operator training, which promotes safe working practises, in accordance with relevant Health and Safety Legislation. • Ensure that all staff are issued with, trained in and are using the correct PPE. • Ensure that accidents and incidents are thoroughly investigated and escalated and that root causes of these are identified and eliminated through preventative measures. Other Responsibilities. • Ensure the role is performed with due regard for the requirements of the Company Equality of Opportunity Policy and Harassment Policies. • Undertake any other duties associated with the effective operation of the role. • Undertaking training in new methods and refresher training in existing methods where deemed appropriate. • Participate in the training of others. • Undertake any other duties as considered by the company to be within the scope of the role Training Officer.
