Environmental, Health & Safety Technician. A new role has been created in this growing company to help the EH&S Mgr. to implement & run an EH&S program in a manufacturing plant, including ensuring all operations comply with all applicable legislation & regulations. Environmental. Review water usage on site & development of a water-mapping programme. Support Energy team in finding, analysis, design, costing & mgt. of energy conservation projects. Ensure waste managed in accordance with SOPs & env. mgt. systems & recycling targets. Conduct env. Audits & review processes, techniques & equipment so emissions reduced meeting Env. stds. Ensure compliance with Industrial Emissions Licence (IEL licence) & liaise with EPA. Carry out sampling & analysis of waste treatment plant & on-site Env. testing to ensure compliance with licence parameters e.g. BOD, suspended solids, pH on waste & storm water. Compliance / Management. Collection of samples, analysis of such & manage them. Implement compliance to std. testing procedures & methods. Record results accurately & report unusual result readings. Proactively review results & flag trends & non-conformances quickly. Implement & support good GLP & Env. stds in lab & across site. Maintenance of lab. Equip, components, devices, prestart checks; asset care, troubleshooting & calibration scheduling as appropriate. Consumable mgt. & order; work area clean inc. mgt. of cleaning of Env. Equipment. Represent Env. Function of GCEU to all s/holders (customers, auditors, reg. authorities etc. Assist writing of SOPs (for ISO: 14001) & Env. SOPs (for BATNEEC Codes of Practice. H&S. Ensure, support & compliance with H&S policies to ensure ISO45001 stds. Undertake safety inspections completed on schedule & to std. Attend H&S meetings; support & promote effective & pro-active safety culture on site. Communication. Ensure timely & accurate records are maintained of all EHS tests & checks. Lead or support root cause & problem solving, inc. data trend analysis & document results. Have constant clear comms with all s/holders both int/externally on findings. Complete plant & systems auditing programme. Qualifications & Training Hons Deg/Dip (QQI Level 7/8) in Env. Science, Occup H&S or related technical discipline. Exp: 1- 2 yrs. relevant technical/lab. Exp in industrial EH&S role. Demonstrate Good Environmental Practices & record of H&S systems & 5S. Excellent communication skills; maintain accurate records & have problem solving skills. Self-motivated; attention to detail & teamwork oriented; use Microsoft Office. Able to work day shifts with potential w/e work included if required. Competitive Salary & benefits on offer.
