The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment is the statutory body that advises the Minister for Education on curriculum and assessment for early childhood education, and for primary and post-primary schools. The team of seven Directors, Curriculum and Assessment plays a key role in leading and progressing the work of the executive in delivering on the Strategic Plan, in the management of staff and in liaising with stakeholders. A vacancy now arises with a particular focus on the development of curriculum and assessment for early childhood and primary education. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and managing key areas of the work of the Council. Particularly relevant to this post are governmental priorities and curriculum and assessment developments relating to early childhood and primary education. The successful candidate will: • hold a recognised qualification in any discipline at Level 8 or above on the National Framework of Qualifications (honours degree); • have specialist knowledge and experience of curriculum and assessment developments for early childhood and primary education; • be experienced in the management of projects and/or people. • have good digital technology skills; • have the capacity to successfully adapt to changing demands and situations and have the ability to think strategically and to persuade and influence.
