Mortgage Adviser - Portlaoise. We’re hiring for a new full time Mortgage Adviser to join our team in EBS Portlaoise Office’s. In this customer facing role, you would be expected to deliver outstanding sales and customer service in day-to-day retail banking, focused on growing our business. Tasks include interviewing and working with prospective mortgage customers to help them get mortgage ready, assessing their financial situations/proposals, analysing mortgage application documentation and preparing detailed mortgage recommendation proposals for credit underwriting. Sales and target achievement is an important part of this role, together with your ability to build sincere, professional relationships with our customers. The role would suit an individual who is comfortable with office-based duties as well as external business development. The ideal applicant should hold at minimum the APA Loans designation and ideally the full QFA. They should also have existing credit/lending experience and current experience in mortgage lending would be a distinct advantage. This role requires very strong attention to detail, admin/organisational skills backed by exceptional interpersonal/sales skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers on complex points in simple language. Requirements: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a warm friendly and helpful disposition – willing to go the extra mile for customers. A strong focus on business development and sales opportunities in day- to-day banking and customer interactions. Comfortable meeting people and representing the company both inside and outside the office. Efficient, accurate and highly organised with strong attention to detail Honesty and integrity are critical to this high trust role. Lending experience highly desirable A willingness to continually learn in the day to day role and succeed in industry exams Computer literate – to comprehend and use several IT systems necessary in our daily administration (full training will be provided). Highly motivated, energetic and able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment A strong team player who will demonstrate responsibility for their area of the business and how their performance contributes to the team goals and business targets. A full clean driving licence is an advantage for this role About the role: This will be a permanent full time position, following successful 6 months probation. The ideal candidate should have experience in a sales / customer service environment and we have a strong preference for candidates with existing lending experience. The successful candidate will be required to meet the Central Bank’s Minimum Competency requirements for employment, including the achievement of relevant industry QFA exams within 2 years of joining the company (if not already held) and maintaining industry knowledge via ongoing Continuous Professional Development learning. QFA exams will be paid for by the business. Education Requirements: At minimum the APA Loans designation or ideally the full QFA.
